Masterclass Sax Journal Copy

In 2011 and 2012, I published two articles on New Orleans Grooves for Saxophone Journal, the premier journal at the time for saxophone players and teachers. Included with these articles were play-along CDs that I recorded featuring eight original songs that used eight distinct grooves commonly heard in New Orleans. If you are curious about the famous second-line beat, New Orleans mambos, and Crescent City funk, check these out! I hope to make the play-along recordings that accompanied these articles available again soon. Two of these songs later appeared on the New Orleans Nightcrawlers Grammy-winning record, Atmosphere.
